Join me as I take us through Nepal & India
It was the beginning of May 1999 and we arrived in Kathmandu, Nepal. There was an unrest in town due to the impending government elections. We were told to mostly stay in our hotel for the duration of our few days here. Our Study group was transitioning the end of our Tibet road trip through Friendship highway, rest in Kathmandu, than those headed onto Bombay, India to begin the last leg of the study tour on the subject of Vaastu.
My self and a friend at the encouragement, ok insistence, of my mom booked a flight over the Himalayan mountains...the highest peaks to the East of Nepal starting from the Langtang Lirung peak which is the closest peak to Kathmandu, then move towards Mt. Everest in the East and finally fly to Chamlang peak. From there, the plane takes a turn and we get a second look at the view on our way back to Kathmandu.
It almost didn’t happen as the weather changes rapidly there we arrived at 5:30am in the hopes that the clouds would part...with Buddha Air what could go wrong? We got lucky and the pilot said “there’s a clearing we’re going to head up”. We hopped in The tiny aircraft and we were able to see Mt. Everest just 20 miles out my window! We witnessed the amazing Himalayan peaks, lakes and glaciers. The beautiful mountains are above 8000 meters such as Cho-Oyu, Shisha Pangma, Mt. Everest and Lhotse ... from my front row window seat.
The pictures speak a thousand words...enjoy.
Peace & Harmony,
